My retainer clients are my best clients, and not for the reasons you may think.

The strongest and most productive working relationships I have are with my regular clients, and in particular my retainer clients. That is the reason I have decided to add two more to my clientele list.

My retainer clients are women who realize the importance that image has on their success, whether it’s in their business or personal life, and many times these two intersect. For that reason, they make it a priority and find value in hiring a professional to guide them. They also realize that their time is more valuable spent on other parts of their lives, and so they delegate wardrobe planning to me.

Jackie is worth her weight in gold.

The $300 monthly fee includes, but is not limited to:

  • Monthly 1-hour fitting at the client’s home.
  • Personal shopping, in person and online.
  • Returns of purchased merchandise, to retail location or by mail. (Client will pay shipping when necessary.)
  • Communication via text, email, FaceTime and phone.
  • All services provided by The Small Town Stylist as listed on the website fall under the retainer.
  • Collaboration through a shared Pinterest board.
  • Up to 8 hours of services per month.
  • (Minimum of 3 months commitment, at which time we will evaluate the contract. After 3 months you can cancel at any time.)
I won’t get dressed without her input.

There is so much more to working with a client on a regular basis. We build a trusting relationship. I am able to really get to know your taste, your needs and your style so that we can reach your goals faster and in a very targeted way. You do not need to feel overwhelmed because I am available to plan your wardrobe for special events, parties, presentations and conferences. Unlike getting advice from a spouse or family member, I am an objective third party whose only goal is to make your life easier, better and present the best image possible. That is why I am thrilled to be able to work with more clients like this.

There is no judgement.

If you are interested in this opportunity, contact me to set up a call to talk more about how we can work together in this mutually beneficial way.

The denim trend I'll be wearing 24/7 this season

I don’t know about you but I live in denim. I don’t have to go into an office so I don’t have much of a reason to wear anything else. Even for date night or dinner parties, I usually will dress up a pair of dark wash jeans with jewelry and high heels. This summer with the cool weather and lots of time spent in my car driving to baseball tournaments, I rotated between my distressed cropped light wash boyfriend jeans and my distressed cropped white skinny jeans. So adding a new pair to my rotation makes sense for the new season. Many of the season’s trendiest styles will work great to transition from the warmer weather to the cooler temperatures.

According to WhoWhatWear.com, there’s one denim trend that everyone from Kendall Jenner to Karlie Kloss will be adding to their chic wardrobes: cropped, stovepipe straight leg silhouette in a light wash.

Tuesday on Bridge Street, I talked denim trends for fall with Sistina Giordano and Tenesha Murphy. I featured great styles, all by Liverpool Jeans Company and found at The Changing Room on Warren Street in Downtown Syracuse. CLICK HERE TO WATCH.

  • Cropped styles are big!! The top trend according to WhoWhatWear.com is a cropped, straight leg silhouette.
  • Cropped in wide leg and stovepipe too!
  • Distressed light wash styles.
  • High rise continues to be big.
  • coated denim- kinda looks like leather which is a hot style for fall.
  • colored denim and printed denim- great options to dress up!

Styling Tips:

  1. Wear cropped styles with ankle booties for fall and winter.
  2. Dress them up with strappy sandals or stiletto pumps.

  3. The darker the wash, the dressier the look. Lighter washes tend to be more casual.

Thanks to my friends at The Changing Room for all the great styles featured on the show. The Changing Room has all these styles plus more at their boutique located at 425 Warren Street in Downtown Syracuse. Missed the segment? No worries. Click HERE to watch.

Another Beautiful Collection from Worth New York

It’s no secret that many CNY women are struggling to find places to shop for good quality, stylish and unique fashion. You and all your best friends shop at Ann Taylor Loft, so you might see yourself coming in going. There are some great local boutiques but they don’t add new inventory as often as you’d like. Your closet is full of online purchases that just weren’t quite right. And let’s face it, the more choices you can have the better.

I hear your concerns and offer a stylish solution: Worth New York.

Worth New York is an upscale NY fashion brand that is beautifully crafted from top quality fabrics, impeccably detailed with styles not found anywhere else in CNY. The Winter 2017 Collection JUST came out this week and it’s available to shop NOW in the Manlius showroom. If you missed seeing the Fall collection, it’s there too, and you can come in to check it through September 27th. See the colors in person, feel the fabrics and try everything on. You can place an order that day or order it online later on.

I tell my clients, not every brand is for everybody, and you’re not going to dress head to toe in one collection. But you can find amazing pieces in this collection, and here are some of my favorites that I will be eyeing this season.

The fact is, you can shop the collection any time, not just during the open showroom, but you can only try the collection on in person in Manlius through the 27th, including all my favorite pieces.

Breaking all the fashion rules!

The summer is over. I’m sorry. It’s true. It’s Labor Day weekend, the official end of summer. Put away those strappy sandals, darken up your sun kissed locks and definitely stop wearing white pants.

NOT! DON’T YOU DARE DO THAT. What you should put away are those silly rules! This is 2017 and the only rule in fashion is to be true to your own style.

OK, maybe that’s not exactly true, but those old fashioned rules don’t really apply anymore. I’d consider them more like guidelines. If you want to play it safe, or it’s just notyour style, then by all means, stick to the “rules”. That’s cool too. But the older I get the more I become a fashion rule breaker, a FASHION REBEL if you will.

My clients hear me say it all the time: the trick is to pay attention to the details. And it’s the same for getting away with breaking these rules. After a long search this spring, I finally found the most awesome pair of distressed cropped white denim jeans and I am just not ready to part with them for the season. Here’s how I will mix them up for fall:

Layer a heavy cable knit cardigan over the top. (Detail: make it hits me below the hip.)

Pair them with cropped boots in suede. (Detail: about an inch of skin between the top of the bootie and the hem of the pants.)

Denim button down top and cute mens-style loafers. (Detail: pick a bright color shoe, like red!)

Tone on tone and mix up the textures! (Detail: white, off-white, peach and taupe- mix up different shades on top of each other for a monochrome look with some edge.)

Check out this article with 19 reasons why you really shouldn't wear white after Labor Day and see if you agree. Will I see you rocking out your white pants this fall? Yes, you CAN pull it off! Try it, girl. You got this. Want more tips on how to wear white? Subscribe to my newsletter here. Want me to show you how? Book a Wardrobe Evaluation service with me here

Fall Trends To Wear Now!

Here in CNY we covet summer and the warm weather, so I am in no rush for the season to end. BUT retailers are already geared up for fall fashion- the stores, magazines and online shops are all showing fall/winter styles! All the styles featured on the show are from Worth New York and you can visit their Manlius showroom until August 3rd to see & shop the Fall collection.

Let's Keep It Real This Summer

On Wednesday June 28th I was on Bridge Street on Channel 9 talking swimwear trends for 2017 with Tenesha Murphy. Our topic: the latest SWIMWEAR TRENDS FOR 2017 and how to realistically wear them if youare over 30 and not a model! Am I right?

A one piece suit has been gaining popularity slowly over the past few years and at this point it is no longer a trend but is here to stay! The trick: making it look modern and not frumpy. The fact is that the more material and coverage you have, the bigger you look. Sorry to say. So how do you create the illusion of showing more skin but still get the coverage you want in all the right places.

  • CUT OUT ONE PIECES- side cut outs make it modern.
  • OFF THE SHOULDER OR ONE SHOULDER- showing a little more skin, especially the shoulders, makes it sexy.
  • RUFFLES
  • LACE UP DETAILS- whether in the back, sides or a low cut neckline, lace up has the illusion of showing skin but also having some coverage.
  • MINI-TEE- coverage for your arms in swimsuit but modern and fresh.

Still not on board with a one piece? That’s cool. You can still get support in a two piece:

  • SHELF BRA/BRALETTE TOP- kinda like a sports bra, it give you support and comfort but it’s on trend.
  • HIGH WAISTED BIKINI- got a little extra skin because you had a baby? No worries, give the high waisted bikini a try. But beware: this look can add material to an area you want to minimize, so it may not work on every body.

If you are like me and you’ve got your go-to suit already or you prefer to be more covered up, then incorporate the trends into your coverup! Crochet is big right now, or how about a cute one piece shortall/romper instead of your traditional cover up?

Thanks to our friends at Lord & Taylor for all the great styles featured on the show, and they have an awesome swim sale going on right now. Missed the show? CLICK HERE to watch. What swim trend will you be rocking this summer? Tell me in the comments below.
